2017 Ford Fusion

Oct 15, 2018

The 2017 Ford Fusion is a car designed to meet a variety of needs, and Ford has given it a broad range of trim options to match. The affordable SE version limits costly features to cut down on price, while the Premium offers an unparalleled driving experience for a mid-class sedan.

Most trims run on Ford’s base Fusion engine – a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 175-horsepower. The upper echelon of Fusion trims, however, trade in the base engine model for a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which offers a significantly more powerful 231 horsepower.

There is not as large a difference in fuel mileage between the SE and Platinum trims as you might expect. The SE travels between 21 to 32 miles per gallon, while the all-wheel-drive Platinum travels between 20 and 29 miles per gallon. The Hybrid Titanium, however, beats the pack with a fuel efficiency above 40 miles per gallon on city streets and highways alike.

Ford also has an all-wheel-drive Sport trim that runs on a 2.7-liter turbocharged V-6 engine. This gives it an impressive 325 horsepower and 350 pounds-per-foot of torque.

Exterior Specifications

The Ford Fusion’s look is an extension of the company’s Built-Ford-Tough aesthetics. It’s easy to see a parallel with the consecrated Mustang when looking at this model’s deeply angled headlights – and the addition of black mesh grille on the Sport trim drives the point home.

Goodyear all-season tires are standard on this particular trim, alongside adaptive dampers. The SE trim has 17-inch painted luster nickel wheels, galvanized steel panels, and LED brake lights. For the Platinum, these upgrade to 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, while the panels and brake lights remain.

Ford Fusion Interior

Carbon grey accents and a sleek, no-nonsense dash design give the car a utilitarian driver’s seat experience. From the information-heavy dash-mounted LCD monitors that come standard to the premium Sync 3 Communications & Entertainment System gracing the Platinum trim, all driver-relevant information and control is comfortably within arms’ reach.

Why Ford Escape?

Since Ford introduced the Escape in model year 2001, it has enjoyed continuous growth in sales and popularity. It is now Ford’s best-selling SUV, making it second only to the legendary F-150 in sales of Ford vehicles overall.

Ford was not the first automobile manufacturer to enter the compact crossover SUV market segment, but they have continued to refine and perfect the Escape to the delight of thousands of drivers. Prospective buyers of small SUVs take many factors into consideration before making that final purchasing decision, including the 10 significant elements listed here.

1. Styling

When considering any automotive purchase, the first thing that directs consumers toward a vehicle is overall appearance. Ford has made many advancements in exterior styling of the Escape over the years, and the new 2017 is a perfect example:

  • Updated front fascia and a new trapezoidal grille shape.
  • Sculpted hood and athletic appearance give the Escape a road-ready look.
  • Need more? SE and Titanium models offer the Sport Appearance Package option, adding 19” black wheels, black exterior trim, and other highlights.
  • Signature paint options, including Canyon Ridge, Lightning Blue, White Gold, and Ruby Red let buyers customize the total look of their Escape.

Escape’s interior has been upgraded as well, with more creature comforts, such as improved console storage, easy access to controls, passenger conveniences such as cup holders, and the availability of luxurious leather upholstery.

2. Technology

Even non-techno-savvy drivers will quickly embrace the Escape’s abundance of advanced technological features:

  • SYNC3 connectivity with an 8” full-color touch screen display forms the basis for vehicle information for driver and passengers. Ford has taken this to the next level with smartphone integration and the feature-packed app – FordPass – that lets you communicate with the Escape remotely. Have you ever lost your vehicle in a crowded parking lot? The app will help you find your Escape quickly and efficiently. Also lock or unlock the Escape remotely, and even schedule the vehicle to start at an appointed time, so that it’s warm and cozy when you climb aboard.
  • Adaptive cruise control monitors your proximity to other vehicles, and compensates accordingly in adjusting the Escape’s speed.

3. Driving

Read the reviews of trusted media sources, then take the wheel and find out for yourself: the Escape is just plain fun to drive. Owners and professional drivers have long recognized the Escape for its agility on the road and sharp handling. Front-wheel drive models navigate twisting roads with ease, and all-wheel drive adds that extra level of traction and stability control.

Escape’s nearly 8” ground clearance makes it a great choice for climates where snowy road conditions exist.

4. Economy

Even the base Escape S model includes front-wheel drive and features such as a rearview camera, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, and a fuel-friendly 4-cyl power plant.

Step up to the SE or Titanium models and get the perfect blend of performance and economy from the 1.5L EcoBoost engine. Need even more excitement? Select the amazing 2.0L EcoBoost engine with its full 245hp and immediate response, while retaining great fuel economy.

5. Features

Escape is packed with standard features and options/packages that allow the buyer to customize the vehicle to personal preferences. Some of the most notable include:

  • Foot-activated lift gate.
  • Powerful and dynamic Sony audio system.
  • Navigation system.
  • Panoramic vista roof.

6. Functionality

Escape offers comfortable seating for 5 with a well-designed interior. Ford even upgraded the parking brake with an electronic button on the console, creating more space for storage and conveniences like cup holders.

Cargo space provides 38 cubic feet of storage, and the back seat actually folds perfectly flat, extending the cargo area to a whopping 68 cubic feet when needed.

7. Fun

Plain the simple: the Escape is fun to drive. It’s a great blend of performance, economy, and styling that makes cross-town or cross-country trips a pleasure.

8. Safety

Loaded with safety features, Escape puts owners’ minds at ease:

  • Blind spot mirrors, even on the base S model.
  • Adaptive cruise control that compensates when detecting close proximity to other vehicles.
  • Forward collision alert.
  • Lane drift intervention – warns against possible driver fatigue or distractions.
  • ABS braking technology.
  • Full complement of air bags to protect driver and passengers.
  • Front and rear head restraints.

9. It’s a Ford

Ford is truly the leader in the design and construction of trucks, and the Escape is no exception. Engineers are continuously improving every aspect of the vehicle including appearance, comfort, economy, and performance.

10. Miami Metro Ford

Miami Metro Ford sales consultants are professionals uniquely equipped to guide prospective buyers through the many attributes and options available on every Escape model. Stop by the dealership and learn how friendly and helpful they can be in locating or building the Escape that’s just right for you.

Ford Escape: Model Choices

Debuting in model year 2001, the Ford Escape has proven to be a formidable competitor in the compact crossover SUV market. It is now Ford’s best-selling SUV, and is only edged out in Ford sales by the venerable F-150 pickup. Over 300,000 Escapes were moved by Ford dealers last year alone.

Escape is available in five models and three trim options:

S – the base model, available in front-wheel drive, equipped with a 2.5L I4 engine that produces 168hp. The “base” designation may be a misnomer, since even with the S, drivers can benefit from such features as a rearview camera, SYNC3 technology, Bluetooth, and smartphone integration.

SE – stepping up to the SE adds the impressive 1.5L turbocharged engine, dual zone automatic climate control, fog lights, keyless entry, upgraded upholstery, and much more.

Titanium – at the top of the Escape line, Titanium takes off with even more standard equipment and options than the SE. Included in the impressive list:

  • 0L Twin Scroll EcoBoost engine.
  • 10-speaker Sony audio system.
  • Upgraded SYNC3 technology.

Both the SE and Titanium share a considerable list of options for a buyer’s specific needs or personal preferences, including appearance options, AWD or FWD, panoramic sunroof, and engine selections.

Miami Metro Ford sales consultants can provide details on each model, including trim options and package availability.

Go Further with Escape

Escape is a perfect illustration of the meaning of Ford’s “Go Further” slogan. With a full complement of modern styling, technology, and passenger comfort in mind, the Escape is equally qualified to make a variety of trips, ranging from those in-town runs taking the kids to school activities or soccer games, as well as for packing up the family for a cross-country adventure.

As if the Escape is not stylish enough, buyers who want to customize their Escape even more can add the Sport Appearance Package to the SE or Titanium—but first be sure you don’t mind turning heads as you drive by. With special black-out trim, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift lever, and sport seats, this option will certainly make people stop and take notice.

For the driver and passengers, Ford has increased the interior features with options such as an electronic parking brake, making the center console more convenient for cup holders and storage. Cargo space is also among the top in its class, providing plenty of room for carrying all that sporting equipment or luggage.

Ford has made advancements in insulating the Escape’s interior to minimize wind and road noise. Infotainment systems include impressive audio systems from Sony, with a 10-speaker system powered by a 390 watt amplifier.

Escape Technology

Escape models are ready to impress drivers and passengers with a full complement of technological marvels:

  • SYNC3 advancements including voice recognition.
  • 8” full-color touch screen interface.
  • Driver assistance functions such as lane drift detection and blind spot monitoring.
  • Smartphone integration with the FordPass application.
  • SONY 10-speaker audio system.
  • Auto start/stop engine function enhancing mileage for in-town driving.

Escape: Right for You?

Of course, the critical question before purchasing any vehicle is simply “does it fit my transportation needs?”

Driving the Escape is the quickest way to answer that question. Escape provides unwavering, firm, and responsive handling on any road condition. Reviews by Autoweek rated the Escape ride and handling over the competition in its class. EcoBoost engines provided testers with “more than responsive” enough for a small SUV, demonstrating the efficiency and power of the Escape’s drive train. With the SE and Titanium optional steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, drivers can quickly gain appreciation for why Ford states the Escape is an SUV that is truly fun to drive.

For consumers who embrace technology, the advanced SYNC3 system enabled with a smartphone app will be an immediate attraction. Imagine using your smartphone to schedule vehicle starting at a specific time, so that your Escape is warmed up (or cooled down) when you enter. Also, communicate with your vehicle through the app for other convenience functions:

  • Lock and unlock the vehicle remotely.
  • Use your smartphone to find your Escape.
  • Receive vehicle information and schedule service.
  • Find available parking and reserve and pay in advance.

Ford calls the Escape SUV designation a “Smart Utility Vehicle,” and they’re not kidding. Packed into the technology are features like:

  • Lane drift alerts that warn of distractions or possible driver fatigue.
  • Blind spot monitoring to make you safer on the road.
  • Parking assistance that helps the driver ease effortlessly into a parking spot, and it also assists with getting out of tight quarters.
  • Hands-free, foot-operated lift gate.

Escape: Join the Crowd of Satisfied Owners

Miami Metro Ford is your headquarters for selecting the Escape that’s right for you and your family. With a solid ride, considerable passenger comfort attributes, and enhanced technology features, the Escape is a compact SUV that’s fun to drive and a pleasure to own.

Ford Escape: The Beginning

Since its 2000 introduction to the masses as a 2001 model, Ford’s entry into the crossover market has been hailed as a feature-packed, roomy entry in the now densely-populated compact crossover SUV segment. Reviewers have highlighted the 200HP V-6 power plant and consumers responded favorably as Ford introduced the hybrid engine in response to increasing gas prices.

Ford’s well-recognized and unchallenged expertise in SUV and truck design and construction has no-doubt contributed to the continuing success of the Escape throughout model changes, technology enhancements, and revitalized styling, inside and out.

Evolution of the Ford Escape

Escape has undergone many significant upgrades in powertrains, appearance, and technology. Since opening their doors in 1983 to serve prospective Ford buyers and owners, Miami Metro Ford has witnessed each and every tweak or major update to the Escape lineup.

Some of the more significant upgrades include:

2000 – the new Ford Escape compact SUV hits the American market, along with a European version named the Maverick. Power was provided by optional engines that include peppy 2.0 or 2.3L L4 versions, generating 126hp and 154hp, respectively. Buyers could opt for the 3.0L V6 with the impressive performance of 203hp.

2004 – Ford responds to consumer desire for fuel-efficient transportation in providing a hybrid engine, the 2.3L 133hp L4. Escape was the first SUV to offer a hybrid solution for its drive train.

2005 – Ford introduces a luxury version of the Escape, presented under Mercury badging, named the Mercury Mariner.

2007-2008 – Ford unveils the next-generation of the Escape, presenting the made-over model for 2008 at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. Upgrades included a totally redesigned interior, while the exterior was also updated with new rear styling, redesigned wheel openings, and even a new grille. New, softer fabric interiors made from recycled materials were also incorporated into the new model. Safety improvements included side curtain airbags as standard equipment, and Ford added electronic stability control. Power options included the 2.3L 155hp L4, a 3.0L 203hp V6, or the hybrid 2.3L L4 at 135hp.

2008-2011 – Economic conditions and consumer demand drove some significant changes for the Ford Escape. Performance and mechanical changes were incorporated into the new models to improve both handling and fuel efficiency. Transmission changes included replacement of the prior 4-speed automatic transmission with a new 6-speed version, improving ratios for better mileage. The 2.3L gasoline engine was also updated to a 2.5L version, and a retuned suspension, updated exhaust system, and improved engine efficiency all contributed to a less gasoline-thirsty Escape.

2012-2016 – Ford continues to release new features and technology upgrades to the Escape, calling it the “Smarter Utility Vehicle.” Technology enhancements, improvements in fuel economy, and pure versatility targeted prospective compact SUV owners with modern designs and trim options that simply made the Escape more fun to own and drive.

2013 – a redesigned Escape makes its debut, based on the Ford Kuga, which was popular in European markets.

2017 – new models present a milestone in Escape evolution, with upgrades inside, outside, and under the hood:

  • New exterior lighting.
  • Sculpted hood and stylish new grille for an athletic and modern appearance.
  • Incredible new EcoBoost engines, including the 1.5L EcoBoost turbocharged engine that cranks out a respectable 179hp with none of the lag of some turbo engines, and the remarkable 2.0L Twin Scroll EcoBoost that will impress any driver with its 245hp output.
  • FordPass smartphone app to communicate with the vehicle, even helping locate the Escape when necessary.
  • Advanced technology in driver assist functions such as lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.
  • SYNC3 improvements that keep you connected reliably and efficiently.
  • Enhanced Active Park System – helps you get into (or out of) tight parking spots.

Just scanning through the many developments and enhancements Ford has made to the Escape since the first generation in model year 2001, there can be no question that Ford’s commitment to increasing the performance, comfort, and overall ownership experience will continue to evolve.

Escape is Ford’s second most top-selling vehicle, behind only the rock-solid sales history of the F-150 pickup. There is a burgeoning popularity of the compact crossover SUV segment, and Escape provides an excellent mix of models and features for consumers. Ford’s dedication to providing comfort, performance, and attractive styling ensures that prospective buyers are investing in a vehicle that will provide safety and reliability for the long term.

Escape is Simply Fun to Drive

Miami Metro Ford is the perfect destination to check out the latest Ford Escape offerings. Of all the crossover SUVs on the market, the Escape is simply the most fun to drive. Stop in to see how they can help you find the vehicle you need in their well-stocked inventory, or help you build one to your exact specifications.

The Ford Expedition offers an innovative towing system to make towing anything, including the dreaded boat, easy and painless.

The Expedition has a towing capacity of up to 9,300 pounds (4,218 kg) when used with the heavy-duty towing package that beefs up some of the core components required for larger loads.

The system found in F-150’s has been adapted to suit the Expedition. This required some tuning and adjusting and the addition of a new rear camera position. The camera needs to be changed as it sits higher on an SUV than a pickup. The system utilizes the rear camera that reads a sticker found on the trailer. This allows it to accurately track the angle of your load in real time.

You can even steer the trailer using a knob on the panel, allowing you to direct where you need it to go. Once done, the vehicle will respond in tune. Basically, it will follow the trailer.

The system even has custom settings pre-built in for 10 different styles and types of trailers. For others, you have to enter the measurements of your trailer manually. Once you’ve entered them, it will save your data for later use.

This towing system is truly amazing and takes a lot of the headaches out of towing. Allowing you to get your boat in the water quicker, which means more fun for you.

If you need this towing system in your life, the best place to get an Expedition is at Metro Ford Miami. They offer a large selection of Ford’s at reasonable prices.

Grab your next Ford at Metro Ford Miami in Miami, FL, to get the best possible deal and to experience this vehicle for yourself.

The Ford Expedition looks exactly like a truck on the inside, something that can be a shock at first after viewing its SUV looking shell. This isn’t really a complaint though, as it’s well-built, looks great, and the materials are of a decent enough quality.

All seat rows offer a spacious seating arrangement, and this is complemented by a large amount of cargo space, which is especially true within the Expedition Max. The vehicle will seat 8 comfortably, all that recline, along with other power options.

This is more than just a big SUV, it offers some really great features. This includes an entertainment system and quite a few drivers assist options. It also offers MyKey, push-button start, nine-speaker audio, USB inputs, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. On top of this, it offers most of the standard bells and whistles found within modern SUVs.

The cargo space is truly something to behold. Even when stacked up with the largest vehicles, the Expedition will usually overtake them in pure cargo space. If that wasn’t enough, and you need even more space, the Expedition Max provides additional room on top of this.

The Expedition offers by far the most space available, and it’s all wrapped in a nice stylish package. If you can see yourself driving and Expedition, check one out at Metro Ford Miami.

For the best selection, service, and prices head to Metro Ford Miami in Miami, FL.

The Ford Expedition doesn’t have a V8, but you’re going to have a hard time noticing the lack of the 2 extra cylinders. It offers a large amount of power and more space then you could ever need.

Fully updated and big and bold, the Ford Expedition isn’t cutting any corners, making it a great overall vehicle for any job. SUVs more or less have replaced the van, and since then Ford has been a fierce competitor in this market.

The Expedition somehow manages a traditional truck style body frame that still feels like an SUV in a lot of ways. Underneath, it’s basically an enhanced F-150 with solid independent rear suspension replacing the live axle. This allows for a nice large load floor in the cargo area, given the Expedition’s third-row seating arrangement folds away completely for extra space.

The Expedition offers a powerful engine and is geared out in most of the latest tech, either standard or optional. These little goodies are a welcome touch, as the older Expeditions did tend to skimp out on some of the more luxury features.

Overall the Expedition provides a great ride for the camper, hiker, or average family. There’s a lot to love here and it’s really hard to get over the space this vehicle provides.

If you want to own an Expedition, there’s no place better to pick on up then Metro Ford Miami. They offer a wide selection of Expeditions at some really low prices.

Grab your next ride at Metro Ford Miami in Miami, FL, and you can be sure you got the best deal on the best vehicle.

The Ford Explorer

Oct 15, 2018

When we were small children, most of us dreamed of driving a car that got our pulses racing. A vehicle with acceleration that could take us on adventures with power that would turn heads. A car that made us feel super-cool no matter where we were headed.

For the most part, these ambitions typically go the same way as dreams of becoming an astronaut. Unless, we’re one of the few that can afford a luxury sports car, we opt for the sensible, affordable car that gets us from A to B as efficiently as possible.

But are these really the only two options in 2018? Most SUV drivers would argue that this class of car has improved so much that it’s more than enough to satisfy that desire for a super-fun car that you’ve harbored since you were a child. It needn’t cost an arm and a leg either.

The Ford Explorer is the perfect example of an affordable vehicle is really fun to drive. The SUV market is a really crowded one these days, but there aren’t many competitors with a balance between cost and capability as impressive as that of the Explorer.

Its off-road capability is a major selling point. The four-wheel drive option comes as optional with any engine size and it’s a joy to utilise on any terrain whether it’s grassland, desert, or snow.

This is where the powertrain and handling comes into their own.

As you’d expect with a vehicle for this size, there’s more than enough space for a family of seven and all of their luggage. In fact, you’ll get 21 cubic feet of space in the trunk, rising to 43.8 cubic feet if you fold the chairs down.

The Explorer puts the fun back into driving without you having to shell out your money on a supercar. Take a test-drive of this vehicle to see for yourself.

To book a test-drive of the 2018 Ford Explorer in Miami, Florida, get in contact with the team at Metro Ford Miami today.

The increased demand for SUVs has seen a huge number of alternatives come into the market, yet despite the increased competition the Ford Explorer remains one the top choices for drivers searching this market.

The Ford Explorer was released in 1990 when demand for SUVs was much lower and the technology that has made them more of a mainstream option today had not even been invented.

As time has moved on, the Explorer has developed. It has adapted every year to remain one of the best options for SUV fans.

To this day, it remains a reliable vehicle that does everything well. But is it the best of the best in 2018? Let’s explore.

Power and Handling

The Ford Explorer handles exceptionally well for a vehicle of its size. There are three engines available with this car. The most powerful being a twin-turbo 365-horsepower 3.5-liter Ecoboost V-6 that produces 350 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive is available with each of them. It’ll get you from 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds, which is mighty impressive when you consider the size and weight of the car.

Safety

The 2018 Ford Explorer achieved a five-out-of-five star rating when tested by the NHTSA rating.

There are plenty of features available that’ll make it an even safer drive. Depending on which of the five trims you go for, you’ll be able to access emergency braking, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and cross-traffic warning.

The truth is: there are vehicles are more powerful. There are SUVs that offer more room for passengers. There are arguably cars that are perhaps more stylish than the Explorer. But are there cars that offer it all in one affordable package to the extent that this vehicle does? It would be hard to argue that there is. The key is to test-drive this vehicle and see for yourself.

If you’d like to test-drive the 2018 Ford Explorer in Miami, you can do so by getting touch with the team at Metro Ford Miami today.
